H.E. SHRI GURJIT SINGH

Mr Gurjit Singh schooled at the prestigious Mayo College, Ajmer and obtained his Bachelors Degree with Honours in Politics at the St. Xaviers College, Kolkata. He is a Post Graduate in International Studies from the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has also attended programmes at the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Indian Institute of Mass Communications and the Indian School of Business.
Appointed to the Indian Foreign Service in 1980, he has served in Indian Missions in Tokyo (twice), Colombo, Nairobi, Rome and was the Ambassador of India to Ethiopia, Djibouti, the Representative of India to the African Union, the Economic Commission for Africa and IGAD. His last assignment was Ambassador of India to Indonesia and Timor-Leste and to ASEAN. Since January 2016, he is Ambassador of India to Germany.
He has frequently contributed on economic, developmental and trade issues to various journals and books. He has an abiding interest in developmental economics and issues of sustainable development. While in Nairobi, he was the Deputy Permanent Representative of India to UNEP and UN-HABITAT.
PANDIT HARI PRASAD CHAURASIA
An internationally acclaimed flautist of India, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia born in July 1st, 1938 and is a very popular and eminent north indian artiste par excellence who is known for his outstanding contribution in popularizing Indian Classical Music all over the world.
Pandit Chaurasia’s horizons also extend beyond North Indian Classical music to Indian folk and popular music He has composed music for many Indian successful movies like Silsile, Lamhe, Chandni, Faasle, Parampara, Sahibaan and Darr.
He has also shared stage with eminent artistes from all over the world. He has performed memorable jugalbandis with the stalwarts of Indian Classical music like Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Dr. Balamuralikrishnan, Smt. Kishori Amonkar and jammed with western artistes like John Mc Laughlin, Jan Garbarek, Larry Coryell, Egberto Gismonti and many others. He has conducted orchestras with western instrumentalists also amongst which is ‘Adi Anant’.

Mr.Niti Ranjan Biswas is an open-minded and keenly sensitive percussionist, firmly grounded in traditional styles of Tabla playing, as well as a versatile accompanist in Jazz and experimental ensembles. His subtle and rhythmically complex performance style reflects an extraordinary level of maturity and attention to compositional detail, rendered in a gutsy, playful and polished manner.

Based in Amsterdam, he is one of the most sought after Tabla players and teachers in Europe. He has played with legendary Indian classical musicians such as Hariprasad Chaurasia (Flute), Niladri Kumar (Sitar), Dhruba Ghosh (Sarangi), Buddhaditya Mukherjee (Sitar), Buddhadev Das Gupta (Sarod), Rajan-Sajan Mishra (classical vocal), and Kala Ramnath (Violin). He has also been acclaimed for his astute accompaniment of Terry Riley, the Metropole Orchestra, and the Concertgebouw Jazz Orchestra.

Stephanie Bosch is one of the close disciples of the legendary flutist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia. She absolved an intensive training under his tutelage and is following the tradition of her Guru since now almost 20 years and became an accomplished flutist.
Following the old Guru-Shishya tradition she accompanied her Guru in various places in Europe as well as in the UK and Israel.
As a bansuri solo-artist Stephanie Bosch has performed in Germany and the Netherlands, UK, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Originally a recorder and transverse flutist, she is a versatile flautist in balance between cultures with lyrical improvisations; Traditionally, authentically and experimentally at the same time.
After her baroque studies, she completed her studies of Indian classical music on Bansuri at the Rotterdams Conservatory under Pt. Chaurasia highly appreciated with a summa cum laude Masters degree and got a scholarship for exceptional artistic qualities.
